Boka Natural Toothpaste
Toothpaste
PRODUCT DETAILS
Ela Mint is the first natural toothpaste backed by modern science. It trades fluoride for nano-hydroxyapatite (n-Ha), an evolution in dentistry that’s been a gold standard in Japan for over 40-years. n-Ha makes up the primary foundation of teeth and bones, meaning it’s naturally restorative and helpful in reducing sensitivity. Plus, it’s 100% biocompatible and non-toxic. We complement this powerful ingredient with soothing aloe vera, antioxidant-rich green tea and refreshing mint.
WHY DOES RIZ RECOMMEND THIS?
If you are a person into all-natural products ( fluoride is a naturally occurring element by the way ), and for any reason against fluoride ( Please read the blog I have written about fluoride).
REMEBER FLOUROSIS ONLY AFFECTS CHILDREN WHEN THEIR ENAMEL IS FORMING - from 30 weeks of intrauterine life to 4.5 months for milk teeth and 4.5 months to 15.5 years for adult teeth. Most of the adult teeth enamel finishes forming around 6.5 years of age and usually fluoride after this age causes no harm. THE MOST CRUCIAL AGE IS 2 years old when the adult upper central incisors are growing which is usually most affected by fluorosis. This toothpaste with HAP (hydroxyapatite) can be used for children from birth.
SO FLOUROSIS IS IRRELEVANT FOR ADULTS TO EVEN THINKING OF FLOURIDE FREE AS YOU ARE WELL PAST THAT AGE TO GET FLOUROSIS ON TEETH, so fluoride has only benefits for adult teeth, so don't villainize it.
But if the child has signs of decay ( again, it could show as white or brown patches which are flaky - so it is very important to see a dentist to confirm this) or has a physical or mental disability, I would strongly advise a fluoride toothpaste to avoid loosing the teeth to tooth-decay which has been strongly evidenced than some mild fluorosis cosmetic issue.
This toothpaste has also been effective for people with sensitivity that is not controlled by the usual sensitive toothpaste.
