A young patient faced the need to have a second molar extracted, which presented concerns about the potential drifting of adjacent teeth due to the resulting space. Understandably, she wanted to avoid any changes to her dental alignment and function.
Treatment: Understanding the patient's concerns about aesthetics and dental functionality, we discussed the possibility of a dental implant as a solution to preserve the alignment of her teeth and restore function. After assessing her oral health and ensuring suitability for the procedure, we proceeded with the dental implant to replace the extracted second molar. This approach not only aimed to fill the gap left by the extraction but also to prevent the adjacent teeth from shifting, which could lead to further dental issues.
Outcome: The implant successfully restored the function and maintained the integrity of the patient's dental arch. The patient felt reassured by the choice to proceed with the implant and was pleased with the result, feeling confident that her dental health was safeguarded. This treatment effectively addressed her functional needs and aesthetic concerns, ensuring her smile remained intact and functional.
