After
A 60-year-old patient, suffering from Sjogren's syndrome, sought our help due to dissatisfaction with the appearance of her teeth and difficulties in eating. She was missing all her lower back teeth and had attempted to use dentures. However, due to reduced saliva from Sjogren's syndrome, she found denture use intolerable.
Treatment
To address her concerns, we devised a personalized treatment plan aimed at enhancing her smile and restoring functionality:
Upper Teeth:
Recognizing that veneers were unsuitable for a bruxist (someone who grinds or clenches their teeth), we opted for crowns on all her upper teeth.
Lower Teeth:
For the lower teeth, we utilized composite (white filling) build-ups.
Additionally, we placed two implants on either side to improve her ability to eat comfortably.
Outcome
The patient was overjoyed with the results. Our tailored approach not only addressed her aesthetic concerns but also provided a functional solution that accommodated her unique dental challenges. This success marked a significant improvement in both her appearance and overall quality of life.
