I had the pleasure of working with an exceptionally sweet and understanding patient who came to us seeking assistance due to several issues with veneers she had received approximately 20 years ago on her upper front teeth. The teeth beneath these veneers had worn down over time, leading to problems such as the veneers clashing with opposing teeth and eventually detaching. Additionally, the patient was concerned about visible gum recession on the right side of her mouth when she smiled.
Our treatment plan was aimed at addressing these issues comprehensively. We decided to replace the failing veneers with new ones, rectify the gum recession on the right side, and employ various techniques to balance the length of the teeth between the right and left sides of her mouth, ultimately achieving a remarkably even and natural smile.
Throughout this process, the patient, whom I'll refer to as X, displayed remarkable understanding and patience. Even when our lab technician fell ill, causing an unfortunate delay in completing the veneers in time for X's planned cruise to celebrate her 50th golden anniversary, she remained cooperative and understanding.
