Implant-supported restorations in the aesthetic zone can be challenging due to the need to achieve harmony with the adjacent soft and hard tissues. However, Miss SD was deemed to be at low aesthetic risk due to her low smile line, adequate restorative space, favorable soft tissue phenotype, and the symmetrical replacement required. Despite her high expectations, the case was challenging but manageable.
Assessment and Planning:
Miss SD had a low smile line, which precluded the need for additional bone augmentation procedures to achieve good gingival aesthetics.
Extraction and Implants:
The upper right lateral incisor, affected by root resorption and bone loss, was extracted.
Two implants were placed to support the restoration.
Restoration:
An implant-retained bridge was constructed to replace the missing teeth, conforming to her occlusal vertical dimension (OVD).
Outcome
Miss SD was thrilled with the results. The implant-retained bridge not only restored the function of her teeth but also provided a significant aesthetic improvement, meeting her high expectations and enhancing her overall confidence.

Patient Concern
Miss SD, a lovely patient, presented with concerns about her appearance due to missing upper anterior teeth, which were a result of an accident 20 years ago. She had undergone fixed orthodontics 5 years later to correct her malocclusion, which led to root resorption in her upper anterior teeth. These teeth were extracted about a year ago. Seeking a fixed option to replace her missing teeth, Miss SD requested our help.
