ECC is defined as the presence of ≥1 decayed, missing (due to caries), or filled tooth surfaces in primary teeth in a child 71 months of age or younger . Severe ECC (S-ECC) occurs in children <3 years of age with ≥1 decayed, missing (due to caries), or filled tooth surfaces and in children 4-6 years of age with elevated caries scores. we give detailed information about ECC, from its diagnosis to management.
