Clinical efficacy of composite versus ceramic inlays and onlays: a systematic review

After 5.5 years of observation time, partial ceramic crowns (PCCs) reveal favourable survival rates similar to those of cast gold partial crowns (CGPCs). However, PCCs, as compared to CGPCs, show a significant decrease of marginal adaptation over time.

At 5.5 years, these changes did not compromise the clinical function; however, critical monitoring of marginal deterioration is mandatory in future recall examinations.
