Composite Veneers V/S Porcelain Veneers

Question:

What are the criteria to keep in mind when choosing between composite and porcelain veneers?

Answer:

When advising on the choice between composite and porcelain veneers, I consider several key factors. Porcelain veneers offer a more natural and durable solution, ideal for those seeking a long-term investment in their smile. They also resist stains better but come at a higher cost and require a more complex procedure. On the other hand, composite veneers are more cost-effective and can be applied in a single visit, offering a quick aesthetic improvement. However, they may not last as long and can be more prone to staining. The decision is highly individualized, depending on one's aesthetic goals, budget, and lifestyle needs.

I would say composite veneers can be used as a step before porcelain veneers especially in a young person to improve shape and size of teeth.
